New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 21,393 on Tuesday while the death toll has surged to 681, according to the latest data by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Of the total number of cases, 4,258 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state with 5,652 cases, which includes 269 deaths.
The United States recorded 1,738 deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The new deaths bring the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the US to 46,583 since the outbreak began there, by far the highest figures recorded by any country caught in the global pandemic.
Globally, more than 2.6 million have been affected from the outbreak, while it has claimed the lives of over 1.8 lakh people.
