Sojakotha Report: The 27 stranded Bangladeshi migrant workers seeking justice against the mafia’s of man power businesses who sent them to Vietnam through visit visa. They alleged they didn’t get any support from Bangladesh embassy in Hanoi. They were in tears and argued the authorities of Bangladesh to take them back. In a live talk show they gave descriptions how they were victimised.
Among other Mr Nur Khan Liton Advisor Human Rights Support Society (HRSS) from Bangladesh, Migrant activist Mohammad Harun Al Rashid from Malaysia along with some victims from Vietnam joined the live programme. Mr Nur Khan has given emphasis on more media coverage of that issue and proper documentation which he hopes to initiate legal action against govt and non government concerned persons and officials.
The victims told that In December 2019 and in the month of January 2020 more than 100 Bangladeshi were taken to Ho Chi Min city . Some of them had tourist visas and the rest of the workers took arrival visa at Ho Chi Min city airport. They were received by the people of recruiting agencies or agents not by any company official. Then they were sent to the factories through the dalal ( agent) on availability of work basis .
Alamgir from Feni and one of the 27 victims said that in May 2020 they were able to contact the Bangladesh Embassy and they had been requesting to save them from the dalal ( agent) and to send them back to Bangladesh.
He added, lastly, on Friday (03.07.20) some Bangladeshi came to Bangladesh Embassy in Hanoi. Bangladesh embassy officials told them to leave the embassy. After they were removed from the embassy, the group of people started to stay in front of the embassy, then local police intervened and took them to three different hotels in three groups.
They told in the live discussion that they (27 Bangladeshi migrant workers) now want to come back to Bangladesh and they want justice against the Dalals ( agents) and the recruitment agencies, those sent them to Vietnam as workers through tourist visas. They alleged the Man Power Authority gave them permission and clearance which were in fact fake.
